About the Artist

Elizabeth Isakson-Dado is a Michigan-based artist, educator, and curator with a focus in letterpress printing.

Through her home studio, The Aquarius House, she uses a combined process of movable vintage type, abstracted botanicals, and hand mixed metallic ink to create art prints, books, and works on paper. Her themes often explore the intersection of ephemeral moments in nature, poetic language, and the ritual of process-based art making.

Liz’s prints and works on paper have been exhibited in galleries internationally, and collected by institutions including The Center for Book and Paper Art in Chicago, Center for Book Arts in New York, The Poetry Foundation, ETC Editions, and Art in Print Magazine. Her writing and images have been featured and published in Pressing Matters Magazine and the Mid America Print Council Journal. Liz works as a teaching artist and independent curator in Southeastern Michigan, celebrating the process and context of letterpress printing as an imperfect, handmade medium that allows a message to be seen, felt, and experienced.
